Happy New Year!  Wishing you a year of good health, happy moments, treasured memories, and great success in 2019!

A new year is so exciting!  It’s a time to refresh, renew, and realign.

Moving forward on our “Get on course for next year” work, let’s review where we are.  In order to look forward, we must look back.  By now, you have completed your “25 things I accomplished last year” list. And, you have selected your “word” or “theme” for the year. (Should you need a reminder about these, please go to my last 2 blog posts, “Celebrate your accomplishments”, and “The power of your ‘word’ for the year.”)

Now we move on to goal setting!

Ask yourself these questions:
1.  What is important to me?
2.  What do I value?
3.  How do I want to feel?

I want you to really think about what is important to you, what you value, and how you want to feel.  Take some time to sit down and start writing things you want to accomplish in 2019.  This means no distractions, so turn off your phone, the TV, and your music.  There are no restrictions or limits to this exercise.  Try to write down things that include your mind, body, and soul.

Here’s some sample goal categories to help you along:
  • Self care and Wellness
  • Personal Development
  • Family and Relationship
  • Community/Social
  • Career
  • Financial
  • Fun and Adventure
  • Soul/Spiritual
Your list can be something external such as work on my self care, invest in positive relationships, or make a career change.  Or it can be something internal, one that focuses on how you’ll develop yourself personally or strengthen your character such as be open-minded, be proactive instead of reactive, be adventurous, or be better able to set boundaries and say no.

Next week, we’ll dig deeper into goal setting to ensure you are crystal clear on your goals and you set achievable goals.

The key to everything is loving yourself.  After all, we limit the good we allow in our lives by how worthy and deserving we feel.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments below about what is important to you for 2019. Feel free to share some or all of them.  Also if you think that there are people in your world who would benefit from receiving my self care tips, please do forward or share this post.

Here’s to an amazing 2019!

With much love,
-Ronna
